    Head Gasket Failure

I am going to find out. One of the reasons that I posted this thread is to find a turbo mechanic. So far I have gotten no help there. None.

    Head Gasket Failure

Thanks for the response. I spoke to the engine builder this morning and he is well aware of the need to finish the heads and block when using a composite Cometic head gasket. They are confident that the Felpro was not the correct head gasket in the first place and are standing behind their work...

    Head Gasket Failure

Easier said than done. I am in NW Indiana. Any ideas? The builder that I am using has a machine shop too. They have been around for decades but don’t know Buick GN’s specifically. They are great builders and machinists though. How can I find out info on GN’s for machining the block and heads?

    Head Gasket Failure

Here is the quick story about the car. I purchased it in 2023 and after driving for a few miles last year it smoked the #5 piston and ring. I bought it to a local engine builder that has been doing engines for 50 years. However he will admit that turbos are not his strong subject. He rebuilt...

    Head Gasket Failure

When I purchased the parts for the complete rebuild from GN1 we swapped out the chip for 42lb injectors that they sold me. The old injectors were 80 lbs and so was the existing chip. That is the only dealings that I have had with chips.

    Head Gasket Failure

It currently has a Garret turbo that must have been installed by the previous owner. See attached pictures. I am not very familiar with these. Do you have knowledge of them? Should I look into changing the turbo or adding sensors that you mentioned? Thanks.

    Head Gasket Failure

It blew during a little boost. I halfway got on it. Not sure of Felpro but it was .065”.

    Head Gasket Failure

Thanks for the reply. My #3 cylinder blowout looked similar to yours. I need to post picks. Hopefully the new cometic gaskets will do its job.

    Head Gasket Failure

I recently had my engine from my 1987 GN completely rebuilt. The builder used a Fel-pro head gasket .065 thick. I was driving the car, very easy, with less than 100 miles on it and it started smoking very bad. I shut is down and a compression check was performed. #3 cylinder had no compression...

Has anyone used an aftermarket O2 sensor system to track fuel pressure?

    Speedometer and Odometer Problems

My 1987 Buick GN has the 145 MPH Speedometer. The MPH jumps around while I am driving and is not very accurate. It tends to stick on a speed for a bit as well (stays at 30 or 35 even though I am going faster or slower than that). Also, the odometer does not work, neither does the trip. Any...

    New Speedometer

I am looking at replacing my existing 145MPH Speedometer. A few of the gauges have issues and the speedometer fluctuates pretty bad. I was looking at the Dakota Digital RTX. Does anyone have experience with this or another brand? Thanks.

As far as I know the fuel pump is stock. I will buy the new pump, filter, and Hotwire. What pump and filter should I buy?

I can return what I purchased. Do you know if GN1 Performance has what I need? I have had good luck with them. Thanks. -Paul-

Thanks for your reply. I just bought the Camshaft position sensor. I will post all of the internals that were purchased from GN1 for my rebuild. I am new to GN’s but I want to learn for sure. Thanks again.
