    87 GN at idle

WOW! I can't believe how bad my memory is. I had to edit post #68 and delete some bad info. Sorry about that folks! I either need to get back into my Buick, or sell the damn thing! Carry on!

    87 GN at idle

HA! Here I am ready to talk more about using more descriptive terms and I think I stepped in it myself. What I meant to say was "One is for starting the motor, what or when is the other one on a normal running engine". I really don't know how the engine will run with no chip, I've never tested...

    87 GN at idle

Thanks. Also, if you find the need to adjust the cam sensor to make an engine run smoother, please don't think that your moving the injector timing around. As stated before, the timing chain may be suspect, or possibly there is too much up and down play in the cam sensor. And I hope nobody...

    87 GN at idle

Could you please describe what batch mode is for the people who may not know. One thing that adds to confusion is using terms that may not be fully descriptive. Batch mode could mean different things to different people.

    87 GN at idle

I think Earl may have missed my response. No matter. Here are two scope waveforms showing what happens to the injector firing point as a function of changing the cam sensor timing. So, in a nutshell, you can't change when the injectors fires. It always fires on the negative edge of the crank...

    87 GN at idle

Let's see if I can peel back this onion. Only one question for Earl. Tell me exactly when the injector fires.

    Front Mount *Lag*

Jerryl, This is the stock IC. This data was taken almost 15 yeas ago, so I don't remember some particulars. But most likely it was stock boost, a fully warmed up engine, data taken on the street, most likely started from a dead idle. Ha! I found this....the turbo fart:eek:

    Front Mount *Lag*

I used to post data many years ago, but it didn't go over very well. I was met with what seemed to be blank stares by most, and a few people seemed to be offended by it for what ever reason. So it seemed like a waste of my time so I quit posting. Being that this thread is about IC's , here is...

    Intercooler Selection question

Hey Bruce, I would like to answer your question, but this really isn't the place to do it. If you would like to start another thread on the subject of injector DC (duty cycle) I could answer it there. But, in all fairness, if you start another thread, be prepaired to present you own data on...

    Intercooler Selection question

Ha! I meant compressor efficiency not turbine:o Although, I measure that too, but since we're talking about the intake side of things, I thought I should correct that. Dave

    Intercooler Selection question

WOW! That is some IC you got there DB. It sure beats the stock GN unit by a mile. I have got some detailed datalogs of the stock unit, if you want to see them , give me an email. With my datalogger I can actually measure the efficacy, and pressure drop of the IC, which means I measure the...

    Intercooler Efficiency

    Turbo Max Chip?

I'm sure the old timers will chime in on this. I remember this was discussed a long time ago on TB.com. In fact, I remember I had to give the explanation on how this thing worked. And BTW, you don't want this thing.... Dave

    Bench timing vs. on-the-car timing

I want everybody to give Carl a pat on the back for discovering a mistake I made in measuring the timing. Carl had done some testing on his car, so I had to do the same testing, plus a little more investigation. Here is what I found. That thing called time domain correction at address 3164 is a...

    MAF Drop-out, Timing Drop-out

Uh no, the timing does not drop randomly unless you have some special kind of chip. Please post your correlation. All you're looking at is DS. If DS is reporting this, then it is wrong! You need to look at the EST line, and you'll see that it is not dropping out. I have posted which chips I have...
