What do I need to do before initial start up?

Thanks for the replies. I have made sure the motor is free. It cranks over good, have oil pressure, have spark, have fuel pressure. It's up on stands and not going to be driven, I just keep hear how " special " these motors are and I don't want to miss something basic and wreck anything. The...

Anyone using a one wire alt?

Curious as if a good one wire alt can be used on these motors with no problems. I have used them before on older chevys with great luck, just not sure if they would work the same for these. If you do used one, do you just forget about the whole plug in on the harness, or do any of those wires...

What do I need to do before initial start up?

It is a used motor, that was supposed to be from a running car. After getting it into my car It does have good oil pressure and cranks over good. Was told it had a high idle when pulled, just don't want a wreck anything. I have finally installed the fuel system and would like to hear it run now.

What do I need to do before initial start up?

I'm hoping to give my transplant a first start and was wondering what I should set first? The car isn't ready for the road yet and I also don't have a scanmaster yet. I just want to fire it up and see that it runs, is there any kind of check and can do with the tps and such so that if it starts...

New-B looking for " Buick Turbo for Dummies" help

Thanks, it' is a super rust free car, almost unbelievable, everything unbolted without even spraying them first! It's just the master and porpotioning valve. It's hooked to a 200 4R , but not one out of a GN, with a Currie 9 inch and a Strange center with 3:55. I think after it's on the road and...

Thanks! You may see it in person, I'm in Campbellsport and drive up to Fondy a lot. I may need to pick your brain for help . It's a lot easier for me to be shown things than read and figure them out!

New-B looking for " Buick Turbo for Dummies" help

Thanks David for the well done info! I do know that I have the motor cranking over ( I get about 60-65 psi for the oil) and I get spark at the plugs. I am now going to start to do the tank and plumb lines up to the injectors. I also know that I get power that will feed the pump, just not sure if...

Is this a good setup for providing fuel?

Thanks for all the info. Sounds like I should be good then with the smaller pump, 1/2 line, and in the future 60lb. injectors. This wagon is most likely going to be traction limited, as I can only fit a 225 tire without cutting, and it's to rust free to cut it up. So I'm figuring 400 to 500...
