I agree, but CARFAX is a joke. I looked at a few with bad CARFAX reports, when the cars had low mileage. Just out of curiosity I ran CARFAX reports on my own vehicles (3) that I bought new (one was used). All three were inaccurate. I'd let the condition of the car be the number one factor...

I bought my 87 in November with 39,000 miles for less than that. Deals are out there if you look hard enough and are patient.

I have the same set up with the TT chip. I haven't had it long, but I like it so far.

I don't know if the car has an updated chip or not. Probably not. The other stuff I'll have to get later. I haven't completed the "spring cleaning" yet, so that was first on my list until this happened. The Scanmaster 2.1 should be here by the end of the week, and I'll call Full Throttle...

Thanks Adam. I'd say I'm leaning towards the LS1 w/ translator, but that's pretty expensive. Anyone else done this swap with either? and was it quick and easy? or have any other recommendations?

You called it...looks like the MAF is the problem. It did exactly that. What and where do you recommend for replacement? It doesn't look like it would be too complicated to change out. Any problems installing a new one, or things to watch out for?
