Who lives around the Tupelo, MS area

I'm less than an hour North, in the big city of Kossuth (just outside Corinth). There's a few TRs in the Belmont area, too.

Hey, Keith! I'm still around. ;)

    Congratulations TinMan 10.68@122

Sweet6, I ran 28 x 10.5 MT slicks, air bags both sides w/ no air in drivers side, 10 psi in passenger side, and leave off the E brake at 12-15 psi boost. Usually get low 1.5s to high 1.4s.

Al, Just wondering how much boost you were running on the pass? I don't care to tell that I have no idea how much mine was on my 10.66 pass. My 35 psi gauge is a tad over 36 psi when showing 35 when we calibrated it. It stayed pegged during my 10.66 pass......

    Congratulations TinMan 10.68@122

Congrats! Hey Al, I'm one of the Mississippi boys that ran against you a few years ago in TSS at Bowling Green. I'm pretty sure you and I were the only two cars with unopened engines in the class. It's good to see your car's still flying! BTW......I got your 10.68 beat by .02 seconds! ;)...

    Fastest stock unopened motor

I'm still around. My numbers and combo posted above were right......except for the boost. It was over 35. Don't really know, as that's all the gauge shows.

Who Has The Fastest Stock 109?

Car weighs 3560 w/ me in it. Have no idea how much boost. Gauge only goes to 35. This was in TSS in BG. No nitrous. Actually blew off the i/c hose right before the finish line. Still wonder what it would have ran if that hose stayed on.

Who Has The Fastest Stock 109?

My times are stock long block. I have changed valve springs. Heads, intake, and timing cover never off. Yes, it still has the original timing chain/tensioner! :-)

Who Has The Fastest Stock 109?

Turbo1dr, Short answer is yes! 35 psi gauge was pegged on the 10.6 pass. Don't know what it was. At 33-34 psi, car runs 10.8s.

    Fastest "stock" stockblock

My best pass is in my sig. Blew i/c hose off around 1200'.

You have a bigger and better turbo and i/c than myself. I run my OLD TA-61 in the 34-35 psi range through an OLD 17 row Mark Jackson i/c. You may be blowing hot air at the higher boost pressures, but you will still drop ET and pick up MPH. I'm guessing I ran close to 40 psi on my 10.6...

You're about 120 lbs. lighter than my race weight. Good luck.

This is my kind of post! You've got a 10 second ride there. Give it some more boost. You've got a good bit more in it. Love seeing stock motors fly. What does the car weigh?

Norbs, Mine has held together at 35.....and above. <DISCLAIMER> Your results may vary.

My goal...10's w/PT54 and unported heads

    If a 54 is comparable to a TA61, 35 will be "productive".

My goal...10's w/PT54 and unported heads

1KWIK6, my converter issues are better, but I wouldn't call them ironed out. I lock it at the line. It does OK running it like this. If I run it unlocked, or try locking it after the 2-3 shift, the car drops off dramatically. The converter is very inefficient when unlocked. The stall issue...

My goal...10's w/PT54 and unported heads

I set the e-brake after I prestage. Build about 5 psi, then bump in to stage w/ the footbrake. While holding footbrake, build boost to whatever you want to launch at. When you are ready to launch, floor the gas first, then pop the e-brake and dump the footbrake simultaneously. That's the way...

My goal...10's w/PT54 and unported heads

I'd recommend getting 28 x 10.5 slicks and putting the 3.42s back in. You've got to launch it like you hate it, and DRs ain't gonna cut it without some megabuck suspension. I've got poly bushings, boxed stock control arms, and air bags. I launch it off the E brake at around 15 psi. 60's in...

My goal...10's w/PT54 and unported heads

Dusty is right. You've got to run big boost. I usually run 34-35 psi. Just don't detonate.....ANY! Only reason I haven't been into my motor is that it's too much fun dogging the heads/cam guys! :D

My goal...10's w/PT54 and unported heads

I'm running 10s with an unopened motor. From my experience, the nonlock up converter will hurt you, along with the 26" tires. Stock cam is pretty much done by 5k. With an unlocked converter and 26" tires, you will be out of Rs well before the traps. I'm locking my converter and run 28 x 10.5...
