Amazing power for a big car! Can't wait to get it to the track in the spring, but it's in storage until then. No snow for this baby. My goal is 12's and if I can get a decent 60 ft time, it's doable. A couple guys have clicked of some 12's already in their stock SRT8's.
Anyway,if you want...
I am located near Chicago and have a beautiful 83 Hurst Olds for sale.
It has a mild 455 that runs strong, and a freshly rebuilt trans. The engine is nicely detailed in Olds red which matches the car nicely. The motor is fresh with maybe 2,ooo miles on it. I also have the original #'s...
This was the Magnum SRT8 that I drove. Actually thinking of trading the R/T for it.
First impression is the car pulls really hard and the trans is really dialed in. Still wish a manual was available. I've seen a couple guys in the 12's with them and that performance would cost me some serious...
Sold my GN this weekend. For those that followed my auction on ebay, it sold for 19k after the auction ended. It was a joy owning the car of my adolesent dreams, but due to a shift in our family goals, I needed to cash out.
I will have some cash leftover, and hopefully will be able to do...
Are there any other shops that are knowledgeable about GN's in the Chicago area besides ANS. I hear Pete may not be around any longer and I have not been able to get in touch with him.
I need a set of heads and a cam install and want a reputable shop that knows GN's.
I am considering a set of heads for my car. Based on performance and reliability, what is the better choice - ported stock heads or aluminum. If alumminum which in particular.
Have a proposed trade for my 27,000 mile GN for a 24,000 mile Typhoon.
Both mint with light mods.
Where is Typhoon value these days? Are these two cars close in value?
What issues do I need to be concerned about with Typhoons?
I know regular Flowmasters do not work well on our cars, but the newer Super 40's flow much better or so I hear.
I can't stand my ATR's exhaust note.
How much performance would I lose by switching to Super 40's...a tenth or two?
Over 20 bids on my car at the end of the auction and high bid was $16,000. What an insult. I would not part with the car for less than $18,500. Oh well, looks like I keep a mint 27,000 mile car.
16,000
Any 2nd gen camaro fans here? I own a 70/rs/ss and am thinking of picking up a '79 also. Good looking cars, cheap to build and parts are easily attainable.
Went to our first local cruise nite last night.
Parked in the post-80 orphan section.
All of my car friends are now too busy with soccer games, kids etc.
Stressed over people touching my car.
Ate bad food.
Burned 3 gallons of 100 octane.
Sooooo....why do I go to...
I am helping my nephew (23 years old) shop for a new car. He's not a car nut, but would like something new and fun to drive. Fuel economy and practicality are a big concern.
We have narrowed it down to the SRT4 Neon. It fits his budget and he insists on buying new. We are both impressed with...
a '99 Camaro SS with SLP package. 6-speed, borla exhaust, air lid, 160 thermostat, reprogrammed computer and 4:10 gears.
Low 13's???? I know the later LS1's had the nicer intake and may have been a hair quicker.
