Decided a road trip was in order so I am going to go meet Richard Clark and his right hand man Clint, leaving Tuesday. Gittin rid of the cobwebs and exploring new avenues, should be a cool trip. Any who I thought I would ask if any GN/GNX owners may be able to spare a few minutes and shoot the shit. My route will take me through Baton Rouge, LA.. Mobile and Montgomery, AL.. Atlanta and Charlotte, NC on my way into Burlington.

Just thought I would be neighborly.

Just when and how long are you planning to be in the Charlotte area? I'm not too far from there and might be able to meet somewhere. That is if I'm not beneath you. You said you wanted to meet GN/GNX owners. I only own a lowly Turbo T. :notworthy:

PM me if you don't want to put your exact schedule out.

To bad you weren't going at the beginning of May . You would meet quite a few of us at RC's shop for the TB.com nationals .

I appreciate your reply. I apologize for forgetting the T-Type and it was not intentional, I promise. I cannot really place a specific time upon my arrival into Charlotte as the trip is 18hr's from Houston and that does not include rest stops or naps. I am actually seeking employment with RCG and hopefully will receive a offer. New horizons and greener pastures I hope.

If you are talking about this coming May I may be able to surprise you.

I am excited and I might just stay either way. Nothing but blue sky's all around me. :)

I admired a person that likes to explore new horizons. Go for it texasmr2, maybe your return route will bring threw TN.
As you know the great state of TX and TN share a lot off rich history. I do Caution You please be extra careful around
interstate 85 and that bypass around Atlanta 285 ....Some Crazy Drivers ...Even worst than Houston Lol ....
Be safe my buick friend.:woot::woot:

Long ride, driving anything good?
Yes sir it will be quite the trip, some may say "what a long strange trip it's been" but I will be driving my '04 525i which gets great gas mileage, saw 40mpg last year at 70mph, but it is really not as comfortable as some may think it is, gotta stretch the gams every 100 miles or so.

Half of the fun will be the anticipation and excitement of taking a path less traveled. I am just gratefull that Richard and Clint are still willing too meet with me. I'm a tad gregarious so making new friends is in my DNA.

I appreciate the heads up and your support, they are often impossible to find so thank you. I am gonna drive as I normally do and stay in the right hand lane and watch my mirrors. May pull over occasionally and flirt with a buck toothed country girl, tip my straw hat and smile. Nothing but good times.

No kidding. What kind of job are you seeking from Richard? I thought Clint viewed the forum more frequently.

Have any of the tb members on the cars for sale section want to meet up with you?
Not yet but that would be very cool.

I use the PM method regarding private details, some things are private and in todays age of social media the way we maintain privacy becomes increasingly smaller by the second. RCG are still seeking, from my impression, a true enthusiast of the GN/GNX platform who has basic knowledge/mechanical experience yet still maintains a open mind and is willing to learn. The day I stop learning is he day I am planted.

Life...enjoy the ride!

I would go 100 miles out of the way to miss Atlanta traffic...

Bah. I just go when no one is on the road. When I have to go through Atlanta I make sure I'm there for 4-5 am. No problems, Ever. After that, well, that's a different story.

Using MapQuest as a planner it seems I will be passing through Atlanta after rush hour but anything could change. I do not plan to leave Houston until around 9am as I like to let the morning traffic ease up a tad. The route is almost 18hrs without stops so I will make a few rest stops and arrive a RCG Wednesday morning most likely. Kind of flying by the seat of my pants, glass half full though and not half empty. ;)

I am looking forward to the exploration, new horizons aspect, but most of all I am just very happy that Richard and Clint are willing to give me a chance. Hopefully I will not let them down and I am offered the position. I also may just decide to stay and set new roots. :)
