Fuel injector question

Aren't they only concerned with emissions?

NO. Everything also has to be original, and unmodified.

Might could slide a rubber sleeve over them to look fatter? fat suit per say;)

That would make it even more obvious.

WARNING!! Those Smartfires are chinese JUNK. Customers injs that I've flow tested, were waaay out of specs, & were thrown in the trash. {Customers request}:D

Got it. I'm already off those.

So OK, what happens if someone buys a late model car and puts aftermarket parts on it like injectors, headers, exhaust, bigger turbo, etc.? Does it automatically fail? And I'm not even talking about modifying 20-30 year old cars, many of which you can't even buy stock original parts for anymore. If this is the case, how do companies like Magnaflo and Edelbrock stay in business? This makes no sense.

Yes, it automatically fails if those parts are not C.A.R.B approved (Clean Air Resource Board) You also have to have proof that the parts are CARB approved. Aftermarket companies market to other states than just California.

You are on the wrong coast my friend.;) May have to swap stockers in for emissions inspection/test and swap them out after? You might be able to buy an older injector other than the 60's that are the fat ones.

Nah, i like this coast. I'm okay with playing the game.... it is what it is....... just gotta deal. I think the 50's would do the trick for me. I'm not looking to set any land speed records.

Based on this information..................

It would seem as if there can't be a single legally registered street car in the entire state of California that is faster than mine! And I know this isn't possible.

I wonder if drag radials are illegal on the street? Wouldn't that indicate a possible modification to the emissions system in the future? Per the CA emissions website, you MUST use factory parts to discourage any future modifications to the emissions system. At least I think that's what it said. Pure lunacy. they don't seem to care if the after market parts result in better gas mileage and lower pollution.

That doesn't mean people aren't getting illegal smogs. For enough $ anything can be had.
