Questions on what's needed to convert to FAST...

Ok so my 84 GN (original owner) which is converted to a 87 needs a new ecm/engine wiring harness, as the existing one has had multiple failures over the last few years. Which doesn't give me warm feelings about road trips. I refuse to trailer my car to events, it's a car and was designed to be driven, so I do what I can to keep it road worthy. The stock computer with Eric and Bob's speed density chip coupled with the power logger has served me well. I had some issues with the ECM connectors and once I replaced them the problems went away, this of course is all part of the engine wiring harness.
Up to this point I have completely ignored the aftermarket ECM's as I was satisfied with what I had. But I must say that this FAST XFI 2.0 has caught my eye. I like the notion of logging the oil and fuel pressure, the built in safety net, of either one going bad during any type of driving. Not to mention it's really the standard for aftermarket ECM's period.
Casper's sells a ready to install engine harness for the FAST and the wiring/transducer/sender for the oil and fuel logging, nice! John had told me at Richard Clark's that he was having trouble finding the connections to continue building the wiring harnesses. And now I see that he has taken the stock harness off his website, but still has the XFI harness up. Which has me seriously thinking that it's time to upgrade the computer and harness at the same time. Questions I have are. 1) With a new Casper's XFI harness and FAST XFI 2.0 which comes with the bare bones components like the O2 cable and sensor, will I need anything else? I have a new 3.5 bar MAP sensor wired and ready to go in. 2) I have tuning experience with the Turbo Tweak Speed Density 2 chip, will I need help to get the car running and tuned with FAST? Or will I be able to download a generic base file and tweak it from there? Thanks in advance and let me know your thoughts...

You would only need the xfi (which includes WBO2 w/harness, com cable, and software). If you purchase from us, we install a custom startup program, and include tech support (we charge $300 for this if purchased elsewhere). You will also have access to any special software (i.e. Flex fuel display, smoother 2-step, etc..).
If you don't think you need help, you might find a cheaper unit used, but I will match any competitive price on a new unit.

Cal,
Thanks for taking the time to respond, I'm leaning toward getting Casper's wiring harness(s) for the XFI and installing it and the XFI at the same time. I know that I need to drop the passenger's side inner fender to feed the harness through the firewall, as see this as the biggest PITA. The engine bay wiring I don't see as being an issue as I've had the motor out more times than I want to think about over the last several years and have those connections memorised.

You may want to consider having caspers incorporate a battery positive & ground in the harness.
Also, be sure to tell him your using the 3.5 MAP
