Decided to take the black brick out last Sunday. The evening was perfect – the summer weather had dropped into to the low 80s, the sun was getting ready to set and moon was already out before twilight. Decided to take a road less travelled and not really looking for a kill. Was treated to a fairly empty road with only trucks and pedestrian cars. One of those trucks passed me on the left in a hurry; I barely noticed since I was too into cruising with the music streaming and the mellow vibe.

Well the black truck took notice of me and braked to line up. Again, I barely noticed. Once he was beside me, he gunned it, his tranny kicked down and he roared ahead, thinking we were in a roll race. At that point, I took notice. It was a new Dodge 1500 RAM Sport Truck with Hemi and R/T badges and murdered out with black rims. I was amused, thinking: “He must think he beat a classic Monte in a roll race”! Then the traffic light ahead turned yellow.

“Well how bout that?” I grinned. I changed the music to some kill music -‘Shoot to Thrill' by AC/DC.

I pulled up to the light ready. I converted the car to E85 two weeks prior and decided this is the perfect time to test it - all in. I rolled up to the red light and looked over. His windows were up, tinted dark, but I made out that the driver was wearing a flat brimmed cap and had a lady friend in the passenger seat. He had his foot on the brake and was revving.
I brake boost my car up to 0 psi to try not to roast the drag radials.
Light turns green so I jump out aggressively and so does he.

He stays with me for about a second and a half while I do my best John Force impersonation generating black stripes and tire smoke the first 100 feet. So much for me not roasting the tires. At least his Hemi sounded good. I pedaled it a bit and got the car to finally hook and was 4-5 car lengths in a hurry before I let out. The poor RAM was having to filter the smell of burnt rubber and kettle corn through his cabin.

Defeated, he stayed a respectful distance behind me while I scrubbed off speed.

At the next light I stayed in the middle lane and he moved away from me to the double left turn lane. When we stopped, I looked over smiling and gave a little wave. Through the tinted window I noticed he nodded his head and his lady friend was grinning ear to ear.

Good kill. There's a guy I work with who has a gold colored Ram 4dr,black rims,Hemi billboard on the sides of the bed, fancy LED lights, etc.

He thinks he can take me. He had better do battle with the tricked-out Ferd diesel in the employee parking lot first!

Maybe someone can delete all of the copies of my reply?

Not sure what happened there!

There's no Delete??

You should tell the Hemi guy just what you have said here. Kinda create your own "list" so-to-speak.............

Nicely done. And an outstanding write up.;)

I hope to see more.:)

I raced my Mexican Gardner today in his Toyota P.U. He went into tire shake & was able to put a car length on him. My Dodge ram is nothing to mess with ! :wacky:
