Braided Teflon/PTFE Lines and Fittings selection

I'm considering buying some AN line to mount my fuel pressure transducer off of the engine to help increase sensor longevity. I've done a little bit of research, and my thought is- if I'm doing this, I may as well buy the AN wrenches and hose cutter and eventually upgrade my feed and return lines to -8 and -6 PTFE lines in the future. I know Racetronix makes a nice kit, but I figure maybe I'd save a few dollars and gain the knowledge of making my own lines, so later on I could do the same with my transmission lines.

My question is- not all PTFE lines and fittings are created equal, right? I was going to use AN Fittings Direct, but have read some not so great reviews about them. It seems that Fragola may be towards the top of the line and is made in the USA. Are there any other good brands? How can you tell if it's a quality piece or not? Besides being PTFE lined, it looks like carbon lined is good to have? Example: Summit part number 602026 vs
601506. The black line (carbon lined, I think) seems to be more money. And of course keep the same brand fittings with the same brand hose.

Not only save a couple hundred bucks, but route it the way you want it routed. If I had done more research I would have built my own lines.

The idea of carbon lined is to eliminate static discharge from fuel to braided shield which could put pin holes through the PTFE liner causing fuel leakage .

Yeah, that too. If you bought the Racetronix kit, it sounds like you got the Fragola lines and fittings, so you can't go wrong there.

Awesome, thanks! Sounds like a potential fire hazard, too

If you're looking to fab your own hoses etc, look into a Koul Tool. Makes inserting hoses into the ends a snap.

Yeah I think I'm going to. Thanks, I briefly starting looking into those- Looks like they are pretty useful. Are there any issues with some brands not fitting well into the Koul Tools pieces?

And there are so many different types of fittings....wow...never knew there were so many choices

They fit any one I've ever tried. You might need to insert a him on some to push the hose end tight to the end where the hose gets pushed in, but other than that they are well worth it.

I bought the racetronix kit. Really nice lines. They are a little difficult to run but if you take your time and don't mind using your head a little they work out great. I also run their 450lph pump with the AN fittings on the hanger and have no complaints. Nice fuel filter with the kit too.

I definitely considered buying the kit- i think it uses the carbon lined Fragola lines and Fragola fittings. Definitely going to at least a 450lph IF I have to upgrade. Do you know the specs on that fuel filter?
