Hah, reminds me of the time I was 6 or 7 and had just watched the delivery guy pump fuel oil in the neighbor's heater tank. When he left, I went over and "simulated" the oil guy with the nearby garden hose. My folks had to pay to pump out the slurry and replace it. Good thing fuel oil was 5 cents a gallon back then! I thought I was doing right, you sure local kids wouldn't have done this?

American Modern. Wasn't a quick process, but they were good to deal with and didn't fight us at all with the evidence presented to them.
This was the set up on the old motor. Metco breathers that base pushes into the valve cover and the top just pops off. They popped the passenger side off to dump the material into the engine:
New setup has bungs welded to both valve covers and fittings screw onto them and run to a hidden catch can (which I'd highly recommend). Makes oil changes a pain cause you have to use a skinny funnel and spoon feed oil, but also makes it much harder for anyone to repeat the same act. Insurance company agreed.

So did some testing and retract my previous statement and analogy on the coke.
Heated up some oil to about 180F and tested pancake syrup, sugar and root beer. It was definitely sugar. Hard to duplicate what's going on in the engine. Probably got the test with sugar a bit too hot and burned the sugar. Pics in order as described.

With all that gunk going through the engine, and how detail oriented Jerryl seems to be, I would imagine he'll completely tear down the motor, (as he should) the trans, the brakes, the rear end and entire electrical system when he's at it.

Just now reading this. Really sorry to hear about this Jerryl. I can't believe someone would do this. I was only parked a few cars away from you. I left my hood up and left my car several times for 15 minutes or so. Seemed like a nice group of people walking around. WTF? Not too hard to pull off a bearing cap and take a look. I know you will get it fixed. Let me know if you need something.
I sure hope not. We had our own little piece of parking lot {James saw to that} to sort of set ourselves apart from the rest of the show, but seems like we had most of the spectator traffic.
The process of making peanut brittle involves heating sugar. As long as it is hot,it is a liquid. It doesn't harden until it cools down. Sugar was added to the crankcase after the last time the engine was turned off before the show. He then started the engine and drove to the show which heated the sugar. While at the show,the engine and therefore the sugar cooled down which cause it to harden. When he started the engine to leave the car show,the sugar was hard.
That's what gets me. If it was put in a valve cover, he would have had to drive it long enough for the oil from the valve train to wash it down into the pan. That amount of sugar isn't going to make it to the pan in just a quick start up and shut down.

We can speculate until the cows come home. The fact is Karma will eventually find the bastard that did this and, hopefully, Jerryl does too. But the bigger issue is getting his car fixed.

We all got Jerryl best interest at hand ,and playing detective. But we already have the best detective on the case right now in Jerryl.As everyone knows most Americans can't keep a tight lip,it just a matter of time before ( Whodunnit is blurred out ). And don't be surprised if it is someone Jerryl knows personally.
The only thing that will surprise me will be if it is not someone he knows.
