Im in need of replacing a head gasket on my 87 GN. I have the new GM gaskets. I'm wondering are there any guys in the Georgia area (I'm 30 minutes south of ATL airport) willing to help with replacement, do it for a fee, or recommend any shops or mechanics that can do it?

I would be glad to help but it's a little far away. Several guys up that way.

Save yourself the money and headache by trying a bottle of Blue Devil first. I know a few people who've had success repairing their engine by adding a bottle to it. Don't get lazy though and use the 16oz Pour N Go. Make sure you get the 32oz bottle, remove your thermostat, and follow the instructions.

There is so much I want to say to this right now and I keep deleting what I really want to say........

There is no such thing as liquid head gaskets on a Buick. I have become well versed on how to blow them up, unfortunately.

NO just plain NO!!

Bearings and coolant dont mix well and coolant and oil dont mix well. I dont think that I would ever use that either. My son used radiator stop leak on his car and I just patted him on the shoulder.

Ok Georgia GN guys don't all speak up at once. I got beer, money, and whatever else you need. Lets get this repair on the road.

I don't want to volunteer anybody but I know Earl Brown lives in your area, you might want to message him directly.
I can help you if you dont mind trailering your car to Beaufort SC:D

Man, all the way to Savannah for a head gasket, I would think there would be someone more local to ya.

I didn't want to wait and these guys were well recommended by a few people. I wanted someone knowledgeable to check everything out. They are thinking it may be valve seals or guides. Gotta pull heads anyway.

Chuck Leeper is a moderator here and is in Madison, GA. You can do a search for his name.

Turned out great. The number 6 cylinder of the block was scoured pretty bad. End up getting a upgraded forged short block. Made great power until the trans started slipping. Now waiting on trans from Extreme Automatics.

What symptoms did you explain to that shop?
