Is a 20 blade looser than an 18 blade?

What is the difference between a #6 pump and a #3?

Thanks for any input.

It depends on what converter you are referencing. I will guess you are referring to a PTC 9.5 nlu, yes the higher blade count will have a higher stall speed.

If you are referring to a 245mm converter, a 6 pump will have a positive fin angle and a 3 pump will have negative fin angle. I designed my 3021 and 3521 converter to use a negative fin angle. But this is my design, others like the positive fin angle. It all really depends on the application it will be used in.

Thank you. This is for the car in my signature and is a 10" lock-up.
You're welcome. My 3021 HF would work nice with your combo. The 10" you have can be upgraded to this technology. Please feel free to call me with any questions you may have...

I have a dave 3521 lockup and a go from 91 to 96 mph on the 1/8 miles on 22 pound of boost

Mi car was making 91 mph on the 1/8 and go 96 and go from 7.6 on the 1/8 to 7.0 Whit the same bots on 22 pound. Factory ported head 95 injector 91 gas whit 1/2 bottle of boostane. 206 206 cam. Fast computer

What torque converter did you have before you switched to the 3521?
Was that tc giving you problems and the reason you bought the 3521 tc?
Did you run the same tune and timing when comparing the old and new tc? A 5 mph gain in the 1/8 mile with just a tc change is impressive.
What was your 60' with the old tc and what is the 60' with the 3521?

i have a patc converter 3200 9 1/2 and i run de car in the same tune and timing 1.89 to 1.65 on the 60

Hmm it's very impressive to drop the 60' that much and pickup MPH your original converter was not doing you any favours

see this all the time especially with the new converter tech

I wonder what is involved in 'the new converter tech'. I thought tc's worked via voodoo. :)

Yes the size of the patc converter and the dave 3521 aré the sane

Comparing your old tc with the 3521:
At what rpm did each of them shift 1/2 and 2/3?
What was the rpm drop at 1/2 and 2/3?

Jim your looking to make that thing faster? I'm still walking around with a stupid grin on my face after that ride to lunch, things a rocket!

Just asking questions to see if the 'new converter tech' is improving performance. Let me know if you you will be at RC's shop any time and I will try to come over.
