I'm curious too. Come to think of it, I have never heard anyone running a 9 with one either.

I believe there was a guy in Houston running 9.6x with one years ago. Wasn't active on the boards though as I can't remember his name. I didn't see this myself directly though.

i watched michael armstrong run 9.99 with a te45 (63mm) back around 06 at etown , the track shut him down after that pass .
he may have even gone faster since
he had a back halfed and lighter car

Bison, running 9.8X is that pushing the turbo to its limits?

Most definitely and in good air and the engine swallowing all of it

Will with that being said. I'm going to upgrade my turbo. With the info in my Sig what would be the best replacement?

Hey Dee,

You should run that 6766 DBB I just took off my car. Pretty sure that would be all the turbo you'd want/need. By the way, I hope you're enjoying the weather out in Oceanside, sucks pretty bad back east right now.

Semper FI,
John

John is cold here. It drops to mid 30 at night and high 60 in the day time. Not cool at all.

What mph are you looking for?

The old cast T04z or 66 compressor is hard to beat at that level. 62mfs with 65mm turbine also

So the 6766 that was talked about above would work or do you have something better in mind?

It would work but need a lot of wastegating to run 130mph. I would be targeting 140mph or more with a turbo like that. I've got a couple here if you're interested.

I have a customer with my motor who ran a 9.902 @137 at 28#, 1.46 short with a 45a with Reds street chip and alky. He wasnt trying to go that fast. Made 2 more passes in the low 9.90's before going home that night. His combo, .Full weight car, Stock crank, stock rods, wiseco pistons 3.820 bore. billet centers, 218/212 roller cam my grind, 885 lifters, Earl's timing cover, champion iron heads, champion ported stock intake, Stock head gaskets, ARP pro series bolts, harland sharp 1.6 roller rockers, stock throttle body redone with half shaft mod, 55# low z injectors, Hi Boost ignition wires, ATR headers and 3" downpipe, precision stock location intercooler, ATR dual 2 1/2 exhaust, Reds double pumper,Reds volt booster,Reds fuel pressure regulator, 160amp alt, my transmission and my custom 2800 lockup converter run unlocked. Car was built to run 10.90's. Maybe it could run faster than the 9.90, but he will never run it there again.....

Dave that combo above is the same motor you're setting me up with.

Mine will be a stroker with stock headers, 5.7 chip but other than that almost identical.

I've decided I want to run the TE45A with my Garret housing.
