My dad and I went to sell this guy a couple of parts and he showed us around his property.

He is retired, and doesnt want to sell any of the cars. He has about 30 acres and several very cool cars.

Sorry for all the pics, but I think this collection needs to be seen.

This is an old catalina with a very REAL motor 421 dual quad

One of the carbed turbo cars

Camaro (hurt motor)

One of at least 5 hotair cars

86 T-type

86 Designer

Designer's interior

more

AMX (not sure what year)

This GTO is one of probably 20 ish GTO's the guy has

The guy's street rod

His grand national the parts were for

Lesabre T - type

Poor turbo car

83 carb'd turbo sport coupe

Last group

This turbo car was stolen, involved in a high speed pursuit, PIT manuevered and hit a barrier. I guess the guy had a gun because the guy we visited said the guy was shot in the car.

Cutlass Convertible

Impala project car

This is a gem of a car. This car is an all original car, runs and drives. 1932 Ford Coupe V8. The last time the car was licensed was in 1942 (see plates).

1960ish Studebaker Avanti

And a Syclone.....

I really enjoyed looking at this guy's cars.

Among other cars I didnt get to look at or get a pic of were a 69 Z28, 68 RS, 63 Riveria, 69 Skylark Custom, 72 skylark, 67 GTO's, serveral studebakers. In all he said he had several hundred cars on his property.

He is a very kind man and is now retired and enjoying life.

Nice pics, but thats a shame really. People could be enjoying those cars...:frown: I like the Syclone myself.;) Also had a few Conquests that were shown when I was younger. Saw the black one and one in the pic with the T-Type.

Nice collection he has, but its really a shame that those cars are gonna sit there and deteriorate. Good find, tho.

Cash

Apparently the guy doesn't needvthe money either apparently he bought the syclone outright cash for over 8 k

Nice find. Thanks for sharing. Even though I don't really approve of people like that. That don't want to sell stuff.

My own uncle had a 57 Chevy behind my grandmothers house for 20 years or more. Tons of people asked about buying it. He never sold it. Five years or so ago. My aunt who got the house from my grandmother, called a company to come take it away. It had gotten pretty rotted and there wasn't much left, but needless to say it should have been sold a long time ago and it could have been restored instead of just junked. In my opinon, everything has a price. And everything is for sale.

wow, great pics. that 32 Ford Coupe V8 would make a nice project to restore.

he is what's called a hoarder, just happens to be cars with him, some people it's animals, papers, junk, etc. it's a damn shame those cars are just going to rot away, instead of being enjoyed and driven

Wish you had taken some pics of the 83 under the hood Jerry. I could use some more for my PITA.

I agree 100% with everyone else, That is completely assanine for a retired guy in his 60's to NOT want to sell those cars!! I get SOO pissed when I hear there stupid reasoning behind it when "reality" couldn't be more clear.

1) He is retired- Sell the stuff and really enjoy retirement!!!

2) If he Loved cars so much- Sell them to people who will restore them and put them back on the road where he seen and fell in love with them in the first place!!

3) If he loves cars so much- Why just sit there and watch them rot into the ground? That must be enjoyable to watch! Must be crazy....

4) I know, I know - They are his cars and he can do whatever he wants. BUT that is still stupid!!

Carry on...

wasnt much left under the hood

there wasnt alot of stuff left on the 83

The guy used to run a wrecking yard there. He was also an optometrist and he lives in washington state during the hotter texas months.

He did mention that the next time down he was going to start listing some cars ion craigs list next year on his trip down. So pay attention to temple texas craigs list jan - may next year.

If you would Jerry, see if he'd be intereset in a fellow Texan coming down and talking to him. I might just save me a trip to San Antonio next week.

That AMX looks like a 69 model, but could be a 70.

The GTO is clearly a 69 model.

I agree you gotta love these guys...."not for sale...gonna fix it someday"....and 20 + years roll by and "still not for sale, still gonna fix it one day."
