Squeak - Squeal on Accel pedal ?

I'm getting some weird squeaking/squealing that seems to be related to stepping on the accelerator pedal. Any of U guys ever have that ?

Does it sound like it is coming from the pedal or something else as the engine revs up? Can you be a little more descriptive like how loud it is, what part of the car do you think its coming from, etc.

It seems to be coming from down around the pedal usually when I am depressing it.

Wink

Hi,
Interesting.I guess we are not dealing with a squeaky belt here. How about some wierd vacuum leak? In rare circumstances,a leak can chirp like a bird. Do you hear a hiss at idle? On a different note, I can't imagine the gas pedal mechanism being the culprit. I have 175K on my 86 firebird, never has that been an issue. Just ideas, good luck!
