Speedo Gear Change

Hey guys I need to install the correct nylon spedo gear in my car to offset my new ring and pinion size to get the correct spedo reading. My question is where is this nylon gear located at on the trans? Is it by the spedo cable itself? inside the tailshaft housing? Do I have to r&r the driveshaft? Im kind puzzled where this simple gear is located at?

There are two gears. One on the VSS and one on the tranny's main shaft.

The main shaft in the tranny.. to change this one. requires complete dis-assembly of the tranny.. as the Main Shaft is the very first part installed when building the tranny.

There are MPH calibrators in the afternmarket. Your speedo on the TTA is electronic. So it would be a case of installing a recalibrator onto the VSS.

Thanks for the reply. Where would one locate this calabration tool for the VSS? Is it like a plug and play harness/sensor or something programmed into the pcm? I thought the only way to correct it was to change the spedo drive gear?
