Angry Need to replace gauge lens...

Well broke yet another part on my car while installing my new parts...I have lost count of how many bolts I have broke This time I was installing my new ALKY Control kit along with new Autometer boost and electric fuel gauge (pillar pods) so I had removed the pillar and bottom dash panel. I decided to relocate my Scanmaster while I was at it and also fix a missaligned dash gauge frame. So while removing the gauge frame it some how got caught on the bottom of clear lens and snapped the bottom half of the speedo lens...cracked from the bottom left up across the trip reset and across to the right side...I am so frickin' pissed So where can I get a replacement gauge lens ?

thanks,
Scott

I cracked mine two years ago and there were about 5 left at the dealer at the time...Might want to contact your local dealer. Ran about $45.

I broke mine about a year ago, and was told mine was the last in the country. It came from some dealer over om the East Coast. I'm sure there is still some around, you just have to find it. Good Luck.

Welcome to the club .... when I removed my cluster the clear lens got cracked when I had to use a bit of force to get the cluster out over the steering column area where it for some reason got stuck a bit .... done it several times on my old 84 and never had an issue but of course on the TTA I managed to crack it ...

Anyway, this was probabrly 4 years ago and I got a new one while in the US and did not open the OEM box until back home in the UK and would you beleive it the clear lens mounting tab was broken ... the part departmemnent sent me a new one at no charge so worked out in the end but took ages to sort it out.

Funny thing is when you open the OEM GM box there's a Denso (Japan) box inside of it with the clear lense ... Denso is the supplier of the complete cluster to GM (at least used to be).

guess none of you figured to just take the 2 bolts off the column and drop it down why would you force a 20 year old plastic piece oh well... seems like there are a lot of new len's still at the dealers

I found one at a junkyard for $10. Got the whole dash from a 3rd gen V6 car.

And for the record the previous owner cracked mine.

None at any of the local dealers in my area but there are some available around the country. I have a part number which I was told was the right one but would like to check 1st before placing the order. Can anyone check this number out or point me in the right direction. The GM part number I have is 25084190.

Thanks,
Scott

I checked the GM parts system. They are showing in stock at our Michigan warehouse. If you wanted it from me I'd charge $49.50 shipped to your door. It would probably take two weeks for me to get it to you.

Your local dealer should be able to get it and it would probably take less time. GM retail price is $52.00

Hope that helps!

Eric

Yeah the price they quoted me was $52.03...but said I could probably find it cheaper in the web. I actually found it for $27.05 but there is not a pic and just wanted to verify it was correct. It appears to be the same for the Camaro as well and not TA specific.

Thanks,
Scott

Not the same for the Camaro .... I think ours fits the 85-92 Firebird/TA/GTA/TTA/Formula only.

Scott, can you post the GM part# for the gauge lens? I have tried searching for it on the GM parts website. Thanks!

I think that pretty much answers your question. It was a good number in my computer.
