Whn you post times, post the entire time slip. It helps to see the car going down the track. Only concentrating on one number wont get anything. Also what boost was run.
Time for new tires.

Stock boost maybe showed 12 to 13 lbs on stock gauge, I need to get a boost gauge. My eyes were focused on the Scanmaster checking for detonation, wanted to see if gas would fix the problem which for the most part it did. Only place to get 104 octane is the track so I figured I might as well make a few passes without have to check the rear view for the police. Like I said I just wanted to base line before doing anything else. PS Have a test pipe but its not installed yet.

Considering your combo, the amount of boost you were running, and that it was your first trip... not that far off. Looks like the car is good, just needs some tuning. My first trip to the track I was running 15's . Way out of tune and lousy 60ft's. With no changes other than tuning, last trip out ran 12.37 and the car still seems to have more in it. I have basically the same stock set up as you except I'm running a race chip, better gas, slicks, and more boost. If you want to be all you can be at the track, you need to drain that tank or something and get the octane up as high as you can .... or run alcohol. Get some good gripping tires and a race chip. Turn up the boost and get er done. Direct Scan is a huge help also. |
