Serp Belt Removal
Going to swap the serp belt tonight - original is now hard as a rock and pretty stretched.
SM says the adjustment pulley is spring loaded and pulls away for removal... I've got to remove the intake hose and other crap in the way to really get to it but it doesn't seem to move even a little with a reach down. It just pivots up??? |

As other's stated but just in a little more detail, I use a ratchet with an 18mm on it set for tightening (or clockwise) and put it on the bolt holding the pulley on. Then just act like you're tightening the bolt and the pulley will swing up and to the left releasing the tension from the belt. While you have it pushed up just slide the belt off. Do the same thing when putting it back on and make sure it's properly seated on all the pulleys in the little grooves especially down on the crank pulley since you can't see it very well from the top.
