How hard is it to remove the center console

The vinyl side on my center console is starting to separate. GM still has the consoles available.
What is involved in removing it? How do I get the shifiter and boot removed ?
Anyone done it and have the steps involved ?
Thanks

console

Hi,
It's been a few years since I took one out, but it is pretty basic, no hidden screws , as I recall. Pull the shifter and ebrake handles with set screws, take all your stuff out of the storage bin,at the bottom are the retaining screws.A couple up front too, under the shifter bezel, I beleive. This piece has rear retaining screws, clips up front, if I recall properly.Pull the ebrake handle all the way up, then remove the unit. Relatively easy. This is a common problem. Use a contact adhesive and clamp it,spread the load across the entire surface with small pieces of wood or some such thing. Let it sit for a day or so to dry properly. I like the clear 3M weatherstrip glue, less obvious.Good luck!
