hay chicago guyz needing turbos rebuilt...

R an S distributors out of minooka, illinois specializes in turbos, free inspection an tear down too, guy RICH will tear it down right there while u wait, (if not busy), let u know whats wrong, what it will cost and usually done by the next day, if nothing needs to be ordered...
rebuilt my turbo for less than $200
midwest fuel injection in bolingbrook, IL does not rebuild turbos, they send them to R an S to get built...
P.T.E. wanted $185 to tear down and inspect.....

I think I'd still rather pay the money to know that Precision inspected my turbo rather than "Rich", but thanks for the tip. Maybe if someone's on a tight budget they'll need it.

$185 though come on... and 3 weeks out before they can look at, and drive an hour away... at $4.11 a gallon a gas!
this guy been building for 20 yrs, plus it was a tip, and its not tight budget its look around, find qaulity and close to home and get the same repair for half the price.
Im sorry all, from a tech. thats been workin on cars for 16 yrs. I was trying to help, found a qaulity shop and wanted give the gurus a tip... I dont like getting jacked around by shops, and I know others dont either....
just forget I posted and i'll keep my tips to myself, oh and precision is not the same w/out harry, pat, joe and etc.

I just dumped my old t63e or I would be giving them a test try. The argument Ive heard about rebuilding turbos is that U just cant change the parts that are bad. Balancing is crucial to the longevity of the turbo so as long as they are doing that U should have no worries.

there not realy listed but been around since 89', but the turbo freaks I've hung around w/ put me on too this place in 03' when I first got rebuilt, and yes they balance everything, they said the same thing about the crucialness of not doing it, they do alot of holset, and garrett, they are a holset dealer also... plus as there taking apart, they explain each piece what it does and what u want to look for... they did it for me, about an hour too and then I was able to take home when he was done...
sorry about the last reply, just hate when u post a thread and u have at least 1 that has to bring there $.02 in... leave your ****ty comments to yourself, dont ruin others threads.................................

oh and u can bring your stuff to pete, I had a computer looked at by him, cause I had a water leak in the dash that dripped onto the computer and corroded the board, so he says I have to replace it will be a week before i get it, cost me 200
well I got the computer back I opened to find all he did was clean it, no new board and when I confronted him w/ it he said OH WELL cant do nothing for u man... I had my car towed to him too........ thats why I look and ask around, cause I dont like people working on my car if im not standing right there...
