Have a TE44, Thinking of moving on up

Man it's been a long time since I've looked at turbos. All the part numbers are different, can't really handle it I'm stuck in the PT-51 / TE44 part number days.

Anyway, I bought a D5 with 3000 stall awhile ago when I had my trans out. With what you see in my sig what would you get? I see they can get a bit pricey now, I was really looking to stay in the $800-$900 range. My brother-in-law has a 52 and I love the way it hits. I have a stock intercooler but will probably go Alky this summer. Looking for a low 12 sec street car on my 275/60 MT drag radials. What would you get?

I'm thinking I could probably sell my TE44 and put that money towards the new turbo.

TE44 will meet your goals. You looking to just upgrade to the latest and greatest, or is there another reason?

Look at my sig. with a TE60. I bought a PT6776S, and hopefully will get to try it out soon. For what I sold the 60 for +200, I got a 6776

Pretty much The 52 seems to pull harder in the other GN so I just though it would be nice to have a bit more. I'd like easy low 12's on the street but if I got faster that's not a problem!

Can't beat that for $200!

you can knock down mid 11's with a TE44. Just need to make everything compliment each other

Think it's possible with just alky and a Turbo Tweak chip? No race gas, no race chip on MT Drag Radials?

Maybe I should go intercooler and alky instead of Turbo???

buick rob,no need for the race gas when you have alky and a tt chip that will allow you to boost up that 44

I would get a wideband datalogger so you can tune your current combo into the 11.70 range Tune it instead of throwing $ at it. You will get more out of it.

I think you could save a little money and wait on the IC. See what the Alky does for you, as it will cool the charge, and then see if you need the IC for more air consumption. Try the TT chip, alky, and DR's first. I did it with the TE60, 110 octane turbo blue, a Dutt neck, and MT DR's. .03 away from that 11.99
Also, with higher boost, use 42 plugs (1 colder)

Think it's even a TE44? I couldn't make out the stamping in the compressor housing back when I had the intercooler off.

Just ordered an SMC Alky kit, can't wait to put that in! Thanks for the suggestions guys. Hopefully I can identify this turbo 100% so I can get my Turbo Tweak chip ordered.
