Yeah sort of like when you blow off the intercooler hose...... All the smoke comes from the front of the car and it feels like the tranny is slipping nasty..... It sucks at first, but then you feel very happy to know it's nothing serious!

Atleast he put the clamps on that hold the up pipe to the Intercooler. That will also make you lose power (and think you just popped a head gasket).

Or don't you hate it when your about 3/4 the way down the dragstrip and the vaccum line blows off the compressor housing fitting, your boost jumps from 23 to about 35psi, and you get 38.6 degrees of knock, and a big cloud of white smoke?

Get yourself a roach clip, errr a clip like the dentists use to hold your bib on with Thats what I use to hold my rod on. 2 yrs with the same clip, never comes off and is much easier to put on and off. Watch out though it gets hot between those runs at the track

If you want you can even attach a wire to it so if it does fall off it doesnt get away.

Those clips that hold the cuise thingy at the throttle body also work well. Easy to take off, and the price is usually right for one of those.

Dathan,

Just be glad you were not getting on the freeway here. I had it happen right when I was getting on the I-10. I was dumb founded and had my Mfg Boss in the car taking him to the airport.
He said, I thought this car was fast. I looked over and said I guess the car does'nt like u Well I dropped him off and went to the nearest gas station by the airport which seemed 20 miles Opened the hod and looked for a missing vacuum hose off the turbo and found that the rod clip fell out or something. I used the Cruise control clip off the C/c Vacuum accuator and seemed to fix the problem.

Its always nice to have two or three clips or something for that rod

I have gone thru a couple clips and my kept popping off. At first it scared me cuz I thought something went seriously wrong but now I am used to it. In fact I carry a tool in the car with me so the next time it comes off I can pop it back on when it is hot. I currently have one of the wire tires you find on a loaf of bread holding the rod on and it hasn't popped off in a few weeks.
