First mods to get for a 87 TR?

My dad my be purchasing an 87 T shortly to add to the fleet. I was wondering what would be the first mods to get? Say about a $500 budget. Also the car probably won't ever be modded in the future to go past low 12's . The car is gettin the engine rebuilt currently so it will be fresh.

hot wire kit and upgraded fuel pump (Walbro 340). $109-129 and good for 600hp+.

Do a search on this... it has been answered many many times.

Don't bother rebuilding the motor unless it needs it. All the factory seals are the best. Once the heads come off, you never quite get as good of a seal.

1. Get a scan tool - Scanmaster
2. Fuel pump and hotwire kit.
3. K&N filter
4. Guages - water, oil, boost
5. tires

Go to www.gnttype.org and read everything. Once done reading, then read it again. It is the TR bible. Once you've read it about 2 or 3 times, you can come here and ask questions and understand the answers we give you.

well the car i might be buying has sat since 91 with a blown engine so it did need rebuilt.. the interior is perfect and the body is solid as a rock. The guy rebuilding is pittsburgh's TR guru so i trust his work to the fullest. We plan to get some GTA/GNX style wheels for it.
