More Bowling Green pics
Here are the pictures I took this year. I mostly went through the pits and took pictures of the race cars as that's what I'm enthused about. I can ID most of the cars in the pictures but I was too lazy to make captions. If you want an ID, just ask.
![]() http://home.attbi.com/~kendall32212/nats03/ I had a great time as always. The racing was great; I am focused on the Stage cars as that's my interest. In particular, Scott Winsett's car (with Jay Carter along to tune and fan the smoke out of the car after those half track burnouts) and Billy Anderson's car were great. A lack of traction robbed Scott of his 7 second time slip, but the car certainly had the MPH at 167. Anderson's car was truly amazing. I have never seen a race car with that level of craftsmanship (at least one that ran that well!). Hearing it on the two step was amazing also..it blew a tire chock about 30 feet away with just the exhaust! ![]() Jim Dotson ran a string of 8.05s and beat Bob Armstrong in the final of Turbo Q16. Kent Rudbeck ran an 8.08 hard on the brakes...that's the bad thing about the brackets, we would've seen several 7 second passes if it weren't for people pedaling to not break out. Ricardo Lacosta's car was running strong with some 8.80s (I think). The TSO class looks to be taking off. Letting the S2 headed cars in was a great move and there was some excellent racing. I think others have already covered Cal's run and the final between Odell and Dave. Let me just say that Odell and Dave are good guys..lots of others would've gotten out of hand and ruined a good day of racing. I felt bad for both of them. The TSM class was excellent. Everybody can identify with these cars, and they were flat out hauling. Dave Bamford ran a 9.90@138 on Friday before having to swap turbos due to a protest. The turbo swap didn't slow him down much and between him, Jason Cramer, Roy Garcia and Louie Lopez, it was great racing. I can't resist: for any of you Power Plate doubters out there, Dave Bamford has before and after 6 channel EGT recordings from his RacePak that show the Power Plate evened his EGTs out to within 50 degrees! ![]() I am not a V8 guy but they were flying as well. The silver Skyhawk with the blower went something like 8.17@169. I am in love with the girl with the flamed bikini who works on it, too. Other cool things were Mike St. Eve's street car (the black Vette) running a 9.70 with a smaller cam than last year and Derek's 240Z running some 10.50s. The turnout at Toot's on Thursday night was great and I enjoyed meeting loads of people..I promptly forgot all of your names, but I tried. ![]()

The wheel is legal, the compresor housing on the turbo that is presently being sold as a "TSM PT71-GTQ" is not. Quote:

Getting eliminated in the TSM semi-finals, that would be me...
Quote:
I guess both will be allowed for next years event. I just met Dave, and enjoyed pleasant words with him, I hope the relationship develops, we are all competitors and love a win. It is always tough to win a close race against a top notch competitor when you are treed as bad as I was, and much less when you leave in second gear (no excuses here), we are happy with some of the accomplishments, Dave did what he had to, and I didn't. Could not have lost to a better bunch. Congratulations to Dave and Jason for putting on a tremendous show. Was I upset ? Anyone who knows me knows I am a competitor, but you know what, the sun rose the following morning. I am sure you are going to see others in the 9's next year. This TSM class is really getting competitive. So what do you say Alex, not too bad for a little street car with iron heads in TRUE TSM trim ! Has anybody ever done it before, talk to your brother, he knows all the stats by heart, that boy's got a mind, but I'd be willing to bet the answer is NO. I know you don't like him much, unlike myself, but the credit goes to Dr. Frankenstein (LAZ), without him, THIS would not have happened.Credit due, where credit is earned. The man does know his Sh@t. It was nice going there, spending time with all those who supported the Buick community/event, looking forward to next years event. Thanks to all that helped, especially, JD and Jimmy, the Italian mafiosos from up the street.

...Your right, I don't like Laz, for my own reasons, but he sure can build a 109 block. As for this comment: Did Dave tell you that he has a stroker motor? It's common knowledge or rumor/fact since Dave posted his #'s on the new TSM motor before BG. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Roy and Laz get major props for their times and what they accomplished them with. My hat's off to all of the TSM competitors!

They don't work because I am out of space on that site..I wasn't paying attention when FTPing them up. I will try to free up some space and put 'em up. Go look at Lance Marlette's pics.. he put up over 800!
