those C4 Vettes really aren't worth all that much- in the last few years, i've seen decent running 84 and 85 models for $2500, and an 87 for $3500.
the engine is dead but the rest of the car is still perfectly usable- it would make one hell of a road course race car. i bet the scrap yard sells the whole car for $1500.

a C4 vette would be a good car if you gut all the electronics out of it and wire it like an old car.

The TPI would have been nice to use on a project.

One of these days I'll have to snag up a C4 and put some real power behind it.

I hated C4's. If i had won of those i would beat the snot out of it.

Would have been better to see him doing burnouts and donuts in it.

I may be mistaken, but I thought I heard that the owner gets to keep whatever money is made from the sale of the salvage. If true, the owner would get at least another $1000-$1500 on top of what he got for the clunker program.

Funny, those cars were way ahead of their time when first introduced. I hate getting in and out of them, not fun. The TPI engine should have been installed in trucks. Good low end power but it falls on it's face after 5000 rpm.

I will point out that at the time they were considered high tech, just like the GN. They may not have been the best thing on the road but they were fun to play in after all. Sorry to see it go like that though.
