Lots of hype for an 11 second car that can get whooped by a properly tuned GN

Love the idea. Gm, Ford need to jump onto this idea. There is probably a profitable section of buyers out there that would appreciate a race "ready" car. Make it cheaper than the street car, make fewer of them, make them really basic and most of all make them streetable, so that if you didn't race it, you could "race" it...if ya know what I mean

Cool idea, but...

My insurance already has my GN listed as a high performance vehicle. Just imagine the rate for a factory drag car.

It is an awesome idea to build a car this way.

Half cool half lame. I don't see the fun in buying a car ready to race. Guess I enjoy doing the parts shopping and modifying for myself. 800lbs lighter is cool though. At least it's painted black now. Last year they had a track version like that except red white and blue, it was ugly.

Same here. Kind of like sport bikes. You can walk in and buy a turn key 9 second ride with a warranty. What fun is that? Now if I was 18 years old again that would appeal to me.

To bad Dodge or should I say Cerebus will can it before any hit the road. There's been talk about eliminating half of the dealers and with all of the recent(like in the last 2 weeks)problems with suppliers if they do manage to kick out a couple than the dealers will mark them up like Ford did with the Shelbys to the point where it will be cheaper to buy a Z/06.

You know, when the new Beetle came out in the late 90s, Volkswagon capped the price. Different animal but the concept is sound. That is what all manufacturers should do for cult vehicles: let the public get some in their hands like in the 60s. Feed the masses and you breed long-time customers.

Chrysler is supposed to build a crapload of Challengers. Probably more in 2009 than all of the old E-body cars. Anyone should be able to get one for sticker.

I'm holding out for a regular Hemi / 6 speed, since the 2009 Hemi is 380 HP and would get at least 5 better mpg than the SRT Auto.

At least it has traction, evidently.

wow, that thing looks bad-ass. This is the first one I have liked the looks of.

I am surprised that even after all the weight reduction it still weighs 3,588 lbs!! thats WAY too heavy. My turbo regal who's only easily visible weight reduction mod is the AC removal weighs 3150 or so. 3588 for a dedicated drag car is retarded.
