Today I finished up the removal of the exhaust system and the transmission. I'm getting pretty good at it now:

The radiator in the pic is from a prior job. Not sure what to do with it. It's an ArizonaGN re-core and works fine. I hate to toss it....

I did have an unfortunate incident when I opened the garage door, though. See if you can guess:

Now I have some paint work to do on the hood.

Ouch, that sucks about the garage door. Reminds me of earlier this summer when my uppipe blew off. I reattached it, shut the hood, and went on my way. A few days later I drive the car to work and someone says "you know your hood is dented?". Uppipe was sitting too high when I reinstalled it and it bumped the hood.

I looked at my car today while it was parked in my garage

But yesterday I made 5 passes in it at the track It will sit untouched in my garage until next weekend when it's time to go to the track again, unless I decide to drive it to work this week. That all depends on the weather, if it's cold, it stays home (no heater .)

Wow...

Haven't looked in here in a while.
Glad to see it's still going.
And to see improvements and goals are being achieved.

Well, my next story isn't good.

I changed the diffferential fluid in the rear just before leaving for Reynolds last thursday evening. Did not like what I found. Hardly any fluid, bad scoring on the gears, metal shavings on the magnet that made it look like it had an electric hairstyle, and the posi unit would rock up and down when I moved the tire! I guess i know what I'll be doing as soon as I start the turbo replacement.

On the plus side, I did install this interesting finned aluminum housing cover with the GN letters embossed in it! Looks cool!

Anyone know where I should get it rebuilt?
Is there anything special that goes in it?
Or can I just have it rebuilt by anyone?
Maybe do it myself?

Its bone stock, ive havent even touched the throttle body or the upper plenum. This winter i plan to port the intake and gain a few tenths.

You need to make sure your cars brakes are working fine, i can hold 20psi of boost and the car doesnt move. Nothing special that ive done to make the brakes work well.

Where are these videos of your car, id like to see them

Today.............my wife dropped off her Honda Civic to the stealership for it's 60k mile check up. I followed behind in my Turbo T.

When leaving the lot I had a few folks give me a thumbs up.

This was my wife's first time riding shot gun since I purchased the car a few weeks ago, so natually I spooled up the turbo to show her what the car was capable of doing. In the process I managed to pass quite a few slow pokes.

Later I drove her back to pick her car up, then I went on to work.

I oogled at my car while at work.

On the way home I got on it and let the turbo spool up, and hauled ass home just for ****s and giggles.

That's it for now.

There too big(700megs) when I get time I'll take just the races(the better ones, kills me when I watch myself pushing through the lights ) and put it on U Tube or Face book and send a link. You got really good top end now 26 mph I am getting it more in the mid range with the 6152 I think, my time slip is on this thread 0n Oct 8th. I'm getting 16mph fr/ my 1/8 to the quarter and 93.96 @ the 1/8th even with 1.74 sixty.still happy though but can always be happier. I'm stock plenum and intake and nothing internal just bolt ons. I know I have to upgrade my brakes can't hold more than 7psi need either hydraulic or fig wants wrong with master, got everything else s-10's soft shoes.

Took car to work today, drove nice and smooth, no need to stomp on it, just a nice quick merge onto the X-way

decided that i hated where my knock gauge was and since im sick and tired of ordering stuff I made my own gauge pod from PVC cap, stuck it in drill press and with hole saw i hog'd it out for gauge, made a little mount with velcro so it sits right on top of steering colum, letting paint dry over night and reinstall tomorrow

Changed the oil and filter. Added some ZDDP, then drove the Buick for what will probably be the last blast of the season. With the Powermaster fiasco I had this year I was ready to part the car out on E-bay. I thought I had it all fixed, new accumulator, electric motor from Hank Terry, new AC Delco switch etc. Worked great for a month. Now the motor is coming on every minute or so. The master cylinder seals must be gone. Brian at GBodyparts sent me some low mileage master cylinders to swap, but now my confidence and patience is non existant for the Powermaster. I had purchased a vacuum brake conversion this year in anticipation of problems and it looks like it will be a reality this Winter. An nifty backup electric vacuum pump was also purchased. On a brighter note, I just got some new Black Powdercoated TA valve covers and Metco push in breathers from Brian. Nice stuff. My job is changing, so maybe this Spring I will actually get to line up against some of the locals.

I took my GN out today for one last drive before storing it for the coming winter. I just wanted to make sure everything was ok since I had some missing problems at the track the last time out. The car ran very good with new plugs, without a single miss but was spinning the wheels effortlessly as soon as I hit the throttle probably due to the cold air (near 40 deg. F) and the pavement being a little dusty and cold...
It's now stored for a good 5-6 month sleep...

Took off the intake manifold and heads. Next on the list are the waterpump, timing cover and the oil pan. Also need to change the valvesprings and clean the heads because they have a nice layer of dirt and oil.
