Thumbs up After two years, I finally drove my GN today!

Well this evening, I finally drove my Gn with it's new "TA" all aluminium engine! It took over two years of waiting for parts, machining, phone calls, frustrations, a lot of "$", but let's just hope that it'll have been worth the wait. I have to drive it a little while before some fine tuning by Eric at Dynotech and then, I'll see what it will run at the track. I will also have to learn how to tune it with the "Translator Gen II"...hope that won't be too complicated...
The car feels different than before...maybe because of the changes that were made to it. I will surely get used to the "clicking" sound of the roller lifter and rockers, the noticeable (but liveable) vibration that comes with using H&R motor mounts rather than the previous original mounts with torque strap.
One other thing that changes the feel of the car is that I went from 15" wheels to 16" wheels and driving feels trickier than before possibly due to the wider front tires that tend to make the car follow every crack and imperfection on the pavement. Has somebody ever noticed that?

Claude

Thank you guys for replying!...
-"TexasT", it's a great feeling to drive it again...and I hope that you'll also be able to drive yours soon! I know the feeling of having your GN parked, waiting for some machining to be done, or a certain back-ordered part to arrive which keeps you from doing anything else, etc ...All this plus the added feeling of seeing your friends enjoying their cars while knowing you could be right there enjoying your car if you just could put it back on the road again! I feel lucky that I had my Thunderbird to drive during that period of time even though it's definitely not the same ride!!
-"BillyRValentine" and "turboculosis", I'm going to have to drive the car a little to "break it in" like eric told me to do. After that, I'll bring the car to him for some fine tuning and maybe some adjustments and then, we'll go to the track to see how it'll run. I'm going to ask Eric to make the firts few passes himself with the car because he has a lot more knowledge than me and he'll know what to do to get the most out of it. But I'll post some times as soon as possible!

Thanks for your encouragement,

Claude
