Kelly Blue Book value on turbo Buicks..

Has anyone recently looked up their cars value on Kelly Blue book? http://www.kbb.com/ 86 and 87 GN's have gone thru the roof on there! I looked up my GN a few months back and it came up around 9 or 10K I looked it up today and it shows 21K!!! Time to up the insurance! You don't need an appraisal just use kelly blue book! Crazy! Shame they don't cover the TTA's would be neat to see what they consider them at. All cars are different depending on mods etc etc but still. Those are some impressive numbers even for my $hit box with 97K on it!!

This makes me flustered...my T-Type is worth 12K less than a GN in the same condition...blast...

For some reason.. T's and Limited are worth nothing on paper. I don't know why you would think with less built and more rare and different options they would be but they really don't bring anything unless they are low low mile, mint and stock! Someday they will jump I'm sure.

It has been mentioned that KBB and NADA values don't really reflect what some collectable cars are worth, like the T-type. Supposedly a publication like Cars of Particular Interest is closer to the truth. I can't say for myself since I don't have a subscription.

Well you would'nt think that but why the sudden huge jump with 86,87 GN's on kbb.com? A few months ago they all said a 87 GN with 97K on it is worth 9K I'm going to give the insurance a call and see. One thing is for sure when you go for a loan for a GN the bank checks kelly blue book! So I guess that is one nice feature of the prices up like that!

Something is screwy with KBB.COM

Late July i checked the value of my daily driver limited when it had 96K on it and on KBB it showed the value of my turbo limited at 13,800.00 in fair condition.

Here a few weeks ago, a guy from work went back and checked the value of his 2001 silverado, and its value was similar to my car.

Since i had mentioned to him in the past about the value of my car, he went and looked up the value of my 87 turbo limited, and came up with the same values as Welby....

He came to work the next day, didnt call me a liar, but said i should go back and check the values again.

Sure enough 3500.00, i wished now i had printed it out showing the fair value of my car at 13,800...

Someone here should contact kbb.com and ask why their values dropped significantly online... perhaps its a glitch that needs to be fixed.

I swear on my life that earlier this summer, the values were higher.. i just wished i had printed it out so everyone could believe me.

Last year the 86 GN prices jumped. This year the 87GN prices jumped. I'd bet that it has to do with the fact that our cars are hitting the 20 year old mark.
Now the non GN turbo regals, I have no idea on the pricing of them. I just looks like KBB has those screwed up.

This is really some cool news. I checked mine and the retail value is over $28000.00 and the private party is $24360.00. I have kept every service record, window stickers, the 87 buick sales book. I even have the cassette tape that came with the car from the dealer. There is not one scrap of paper that I have not kept.

I don't get it. Blue Book is suppsoed to reflect what cars are actually selling for. I don't see any Turbo Buick selling anywhere near that low unless it's in poor condition with high mileage. Where are all these $3500 excellent condition Turbo Buicks? I want to find one!

KBB does not go "down" to 84.
I may need to "upgrade"

Wells,,,,,,,,,,I do not mind at all. I am the second owner. The car is a 87 GN with 42,000 mile. It has always been an inside car. It has the normal electric seats, locks, windows, tilt, factory alarm, cassette, rear defrost, twilight sent. The paint is in great shape. I was quit suprised at what the KBB web page said the car was worth. Truth be known it does need some work. I have not driven it more than about 150 miles in the last four years. It still has the factory hoses, belts, plugs and plug wires. The reason I do not drive it that much is that I have a Blue 84 T-Type that I converted over to an 87.

Here's a good one for you...

On may 22nd of this year, I looked up the value of our GN on KBB.com. Our odometer reads 186K miles. It is actually incorrect but has had the 255's on it so long we consider it accurate.
Anyway, I was just trying to get an idea of the value for my new insurance company and it came up $18,800 suggested retail value, $12,440 private party!

Today it lists our same GN with the same mileage as $21,830 suggested and $16,795 private party!!

I feel sorry for anybody's insurance company if they hit it.

NADA says 87 GN 7900 13,575 23,750 87 T-type 7000 10,900 19,950 85 GN 5625 8600 14,350 85 T-type 4725 6825 12,450. Thats low average high retail. The high is totally restored or excellent original.
