Thought you guys might like to read this!

Well we know our cars (Turbo Regals/Grand Nationals) are some awesome vehicles with some great potential and still have the good fuel economy we like. But how do they rate against the newer cars like the Camaros, Mustangs, and Vipers of todays day or how do the even compare to the "old school" muscle cars with the big V-8's...... well the truth might surprise you....... unless of course you own a Turbo Buick!

That looks like a flashback to 1997-No LS1's to be found. It was pleasant to see two Buicks in the top three out of 15 These days it is harder for a near stock GN to hang with cars like WRX/STi's and Evo's and even big bad Benz's. A couple years ago, GMHTP mag ran a stock Camaro SS 12.98 in the 1/4 mile, and a stock 2001 Z06 11.96. The new C6 Z06 will straight up trash most anything on the road- I gotta get me one of those some day

Wow... We have a winner!

In the slalom and the braking, the Buick performed... better than the oldies. Driving the turbo Buick is a completely different experience from driving any other car here. There's no rumble from the engine, just an evil hiss from the turbocharger. Then, it breaks the tires loose at the top of First gear, which is a bit unnerving if you're not ready for it. And at full boost, it shoves you so hard into the seat that it feels like Hulk Hogan is standing on your chest.

We included the T-Type because it represents a perfect mix of the old and the new. It has an old-style sedan chassis like a classic musclecar, but it's powered by a high-tech, fuel-injected engine, like a modern musclecar. It's sort of a bridge between two eras. If Hansen had run with [only] 15 psi of boost, he still would have beaten every old car except the Hemicuda.
