Made-made islands

Made-made islands are being built for living purposes... It's hard to believe that they will have all the islands completed by the end of next year.

http://guide.theemiratesnetwork.com/...ld_islands.php

The video of the island development is really kewl so check it out also.

I remember seeing a show on the Palm Islands once and thinking that it sounds great in theory, but I wonder what the long-term will bring. Isn't Venice having a heck of a time trying to build new breakwaters and whatnot because the city is at serious risk of erosion? (Saw a show on that, too. ) Oh well, what does it matter?....not like I could ever afford one anyway.

There's a long history of man made islands, not a lot of people realize it. They were very prevelant with the military (runways, etc.) and then these islands were squatted on by radio pirates to a large degree in the European nations. I'd love to have a surplus military island like that, but I'd prefer a surplus missle silo first
