Turbo Riviera

hey 3.8LPF, there was a turbo option on the Rivieras in the 80's but after 87 when GM went to FWD there has been no such option offered. The only form of forced induction after the 80's Rivs were the supercharged 95's-99's. But there is a guy named John Schmidt that he has made a late model Riviera race car using the turbo 3.8 . Hope this helps. Heres a link to some pictures of the racecar. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=31434

Go to the "hotair tech" section and ask about Turbo Riv's, Scott North (who rebuilt my engine) has one, and will be glad to tell you about 'em!

1979-83 with a longitudinal FWD engine. Very similar set up to the the RWD turbo buicks of the same year.

In 1986 the engine went sidways (tranverse) without the turbo.

Also included and same body style as above, there were T Type Rivieras that were basically the same engine and transmission (trans configured a bit different) as the 84-84 Grand National/T type Regals . Several members here have one or more of the 84-5 T Type Rivs, I have an 85 T Riv. For more info type "riviera" in the search block on the "Hot Air " forum , plenty of posts there, also ask any questions about the Rivieras there, you will get best results. Welcome to the "Turbobuick" board, do you own or looking to buy a turbo Riviera?
