60 Foot Times

About what 60' should the left front wheel come off the ground foot braking. It sure seems like I'm getting close.

I'm not sure either, i swear with a sway bar off and pulling only a 1.74 it felt awesome but i know it wasnt close I think it all depends on the suspension setup. I've seen some cars pull 1.4s and not lift, yet I saw a 90/10 shocked malibu running a mid 12 lift the front left an inch.

I had my rear sway bar out at one point and it would pull the left front wheel about 3-4" with 60ft's around 1.57-1.58.

It hasnt pulled the wheels scince but has gone a 1.47 60ft and is consistantly in the 1.47-1.49 range.

HTH,
Steve

I've seen cars with 1.65's pull the left wheel an inch. Usually it was with the "shock" of the launch and it wasn't truly pulling and carrying the wheel.

Pulling "a" wheel is frame twist(not wanted).A real wheelstand is hanging the hoops on both sides.Besides who cares if you pull a wheel or both as long as you run the #s.Sure it looks cool, but you might not be going straight when a wheelstand comes down.True pro racers try NOT to pull the wheels,of course there are those that are known for their wheelies I.E. Jack Cotton. BTW I know a guy who has an all stock motor with just injectors and a turbo that pulled the wheels up 6" launching at 25# and his 60' was in the 1.6s

Putting the wheels in the air is not necessarily the result of a good 60'. It is the result of weight transfer to the rear. You can net a 1.2 60' and leave the wheels on the ground if your suspension is dialed in perfectly, and you have enough tire. On the same token, you can put the wheels 3 feet in the air, but run a 1.7 60'. Remember, wheels stands, while fun to watch, are NOT the most effecient way down the track.

without some very expensive mods to our cars (4 link, ladder bar, etc) it is difficult to keep the front wheels on the ground during hard launches.......not the best situation, but folks run some pretty salty 60' times with the wheels in the air (like low 1.3's....)
