Posi option with GN WE2 option

Just looking for confirmation on a fact that I know to be true.

Posi, code G80 although came with many GNs, it was not STANDARD when WE2 (GN code) was ordered. I've owned a peg leg GN and have had friends that owned them as well and no were was G80 listed on the RPO nor did they have a posi. I was inquiring on a GN for sale on this board, and well...the owner is quite a smart ass, just looking for some proof to show him that I did my homework as he said.

It's pretty simple really

Whether it's an extra cost option or free or whatever. If posi is installed, it will be listed on the option codes as G80. If G80 is not listed it wasn't included.
BUT, it could be like my car. Came with NO G80, but I installed it myself. Code's still not there though.

Thats an easy realistic approach, Dave. So, you're saying not all GNs came with posi then because it was not standard right?

Not exactly. Depends on the year. I know for example that it was an extra cost option on 86 GN's, and for the most part was included as part of the GN package on 87's.

Actually, I have read before that later built 87s did get posi's possibly becuase GM did not want them sitting around since it was the last year now that you do say that...however it was still an option as WE2 included only the following:

D55 FULL LENGTH CONSOLE
LC2 3.8 L SFI TURBO WITH INTERCOOLER

MXO 2OO-4R AUTO TRANS
QYZ TIRE -- BLACKWALL P215/65R15
B19 STEERING WHEEL HORN CAP EMBLEM
BY4 I/P NAMEPLATE APPLIQUE "GRAND NATIONAL"
W11 T TYPE PACKAGE
GM19 BLACK EXTERIOR COLOR
T43 REAR SPOILER
BX1 EXTERIOR ORNAMENTATION FRT END SPL
VH6 BAR -- RR IMPACT (BLACK)

Posi was an extra cost item on ALL GN's. In the late build GN's in the fall of 1987, it was installed on all of them as far as I know, but it was listed and priced as a separate line item.

Wink

Thanks Nick. Just making sure I was not crazy and dream up this wild concoction of it not being standard. I mean, I'm getting older, but not THAT old yet!

One of the last 11? Very cool. Dont' get all bent because I asked you a simple question on whether it was a hardtop or not...and got a "GO REREAD THE AD!" Response.

HEY TURN YOUR CAPS OFF AND USE PROPER Capitalization, it just lets your ignorance shine through..it's called etiquette fewl.

If you want to meet in person, I'll let you buy me a drink at the Nats for being such a dick.
