Exclamation 03 Cobra loses to Mercedes...

..granted the mercedes cost 4 times as much as an 03 cobra. but the mercedes is a 4 door sedan, that has potential to run 11's...

One of the better editing jobs on a short flick. IMO.

Not sure what they were running (time slips) but
an 03 Cobra with only a chip change, a new blower
and an exhaust system was turning 11.4 - 11.6 all
day at Atco Raceway two weeks ago....The guy swears
that was all he did. I am not a fan of Ferds, but I had
to admit, this car was getting it done with very few mods
or Ca$h into the car..

Course - like all Rustangs, the trans is made of glass and he got towed home on a flatbed by the end of the day...

If it is the video I'm thinking about, it looks like the Cobra catches the e55 on the big end.

I love those mercedes. The next CL55 AMG is rumored to have upwards of 920 lbs. ft of torque. It's pretty hard to find something bad to say about mercedes. They're also releasing a 7-speed automatic. Geez.

Actually, the E55 starts at 77k and Jesus spent upwards of 85k for his, but if you think he spent that money simply to run 11's, you're sadly mistaken...

There's a lot more to the Benz than just speed...

The E55 is a bad ass car! There was one at Atco this past summer pulling mid 11's

If had the 82-85K for one I'd spend it on that in a hearbeat

the Cobra driver is a chump. He can't drive. See the first run?? Spinning all the way thru second.
The second run was a WHOLE lot closer. In fact look close the Cobra was closing in on the big Merc.
Put a GOOD driver in the Mustangs seat and the outcome will be a WHOLE different. Nice cruiser but at that price?? You can keep the Merc. Ill take a down payment on a shore home with that $$

Gotta give the lil 280 cubic inch Cobra its kudos..

I wasn't knockin the Cobra, the fact is it's a bad ass car. But so is the E55...gee would you take a Ford or a Benz? lol

If you go to the Reynolds picture thread you will see a nice little white 4 door Mercedes (Hoosier slicks on the back)that was at the track. C460 model that was running consistent 11.5's. After talking with the owner he told me the Klemmer supercharger sitting on the engine cost over $15,000. He didn't let me know about all the other mods, but it was sweet! Another stock v-12 beast was in the low 12's!! Big money, Big players......of course my buddy Jr Turner turned 11.2's with his street driven Rosewood that is every bit as comfortable as the Benz...
