Post TSM Point Series Final This Weekend!

This weekend in Reynolds, Georgia at the Southeast Musclecar Challenge will be the sixth and final running of TSM for this year's points chase.

As the points stand, it looks like only Jason Cramer could topple Dave Bamford...but he would have to win the maximum amount of points availbe to a field of 17-32 cars and steal Roy "Boost" Garcia's top MPH and low ET season records. Roy would have to do the same thing in a field of over 32 cars to beat Dave in the series...a tall order for sure.

Second and Third place could still be swiped from those that are in 2nd and 3rd now. Assuming a field of 9-16 cars, the points available to the winner is 310 if they set low ET and top MPH for the day. What if Roy's car breaks in qualifying and Walt Judy wins the whole thing? That puts Walt ahead of Roy and Jason for second place...that's a move from 7th to 2nd assuming Jason doesn't attend. It ain't over 'til it's over! But in order to win, place or show, they have to be there!

Will Bamford be there? Will Racin' Jason? Can Brett Rudbeck or Dave Stinson put the hurt on the field? Anyone seen Scott Claridge recently? Will Lonnie Diers actually make a TSM race? Will Lopez actually hit his bumper on the pavement this time?

Tune in Saturday afternoon when results will be posted! In the meantime, you can visit the TSM Point Series webpage by clicking here.

Scott i wont be there so it will be up to someone else. I would like to thank keith egan for the offer of driving down with his tow rig with my car in it. I had already started pulling the motor for a winter inspection and decided not to take him up on his offer. Wish we were going!!!

Sorry to hear that Walt. I too will not be attending the race (it's my wife's birthday Saturday). Sure is awfully nice of Keith to offer to tow your car ALL the way down to Reynolds. That's gotta be some 1,400+ miles from cheeseland.

Even Lopez could pick up the 310 points and do some damage to the second place finish.

If you include the per-race payout and the final tally of the season points totals, there is over $1,200 to be paid based on the results of this one race.

Thanks to the major sponsors of the TSM Point Series:

All right, bring your Turbo, MAF pipe and Computer over on Thursday night, we'll put them on my car and you can race that.

Only a 15 hour Drive, we'll be there by Friday Noon.......

Wink Mr. Eagan...

are you saying that Mr. Diers (MR.2004R) will be wearing a bikini... or maybe some tight orange shorts with a tank top, orange letters and an owl, white tennis shoes and white socks ? WOW, that's got to be woth the price of admission !

Looks like Mr. Bamford has the title wrapped up (Congrats to him), and Mr. Cramer's too busy to come to the East Coast making Buick products, (counting the $$$), Mr. Lopez was seen at his friendly neighborhood ACE hardware store, buying casters to weld in his rear bumper, guearing up for "WHEELIE part II", hope to see Brett, Scott C., Walt, Dave and others up there. Scott don't worry, I know what it's like when the wife says " NOH ! YOU CAN"T GO !", been there done that, we all know who wears the pants in our house. (still waiting for the mpg's)

As for the LAZ Racing team, the engine is going back in "BOOOOST"tommorrow(Wednesday), and should be caravaning up with others Thursday evening. We are counting on that colder weather (and Dr. Frankenstein's [LAZ] magic, offcourse) to see if we can lower the current TSM, ET/MPH record.

Incidently, I have updated the TSM Point Series Website to include a link to a "TSM Records" page that shows the current best TSM pass run marks in competition...which includes Qualifying and Elimination round passes. Just in case anyone is interested.

If you can't see the link, put your cursor over on the left side of the screen, do a right-click and select Refresh...assuming you are using I.E. from Mr. Gates.
