Unless I'm mistaken Paper clip method doesn't work on OBDII.

You are correct sir! Paper clip method does not work on any of the obd systems. Only good up till the 94 year model....I think.

I suppose I did not. Maybe it's because I'm too poor to afford a car newer than 94(newest one being a 93 GranAmGT) and never encountered the new system but hey at least my paper clip works on my cars

Well I know on the Dodges with a digital odometer, if you turn the key ON..OFF..ON..OFF..ON it will display the trouble code on the odometer. I am sure there are other vehicles that it can be done just as easily.

Don't worry Fbird just playin with ya!

Some day dude you will move up & own a newer car.
It took me many years to get there. Unfortunatly the
new cars are a whole new ball game.

I too wish it could be done with clip

LOL.. didn't seem too long ago that we used to adjust cars with a ... um... uh.... OH a WRENCH!! It's been so long, I forgot the word!!

That's not a bad deal though for a reader. I already had a code come up on a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix. The dealer screwed around before fixing it.. would have liked that around. Does it just read codes? Can it give sensor values?

Chris, it only reads & clears the codes.
If you leave it attached longer than the 4 cycles if flashes the codes will clear.

Pretty handy item for short $$

Works on everything except SUBARUS & Volkswagons (WHAT ARE THOSE ANYWAY )
