This was last years combo. We'll stepped it up this year with a new block,
Ross pistons, lightened 3.40" steel crank, some alum. heads, solid roller cam and one of those funny things with all those wires in it, sticking out of the front of the motor. I'm adding Areospace brakes up front and a few other things to lighten up the front so I can add weight to the rear to in hopes of getting my 60' time to where they need to be.

Boost is an "evil" that hardly anyone likes to share for some reason.

I say... "so what" if it takes 35psi to run 9's with a certain combination. You're probably doing it CHEAPER than someone doing it at only 25psi.

Yes, Phil is running a Ford 9" rear end. Not only is he runing a 200-4R, but he can lock up the torque converter clutch in 2, 3rd and 4th...giving him a total of 7 potential "gears" -- that's a lot of activity going on.

I agree there's just different ways of getting it done in terms of combination and tuning... Some prefer a higher CR and less boost (I believe this is the approach Dave Bamford is taking with his DLS motor) and obviously some may prefer a lower CR and high boost.. Also, it's obvious that an iron headed motor will need more boost to get the job done compared to an alum headed motor.. As long as you "Git-R-Done" who cares!
