D4 converter??? Whats it from?

Alright guys, I am trying to help out a newbie here. He just had to replace his tranny. He knows Nothing about these cars yet and has sought my advise on a few things, He send the tranny into a shop who supposedly did a stock rebuild. I crawled underneath last night and saw his converter, supposed to be a stock rebuild, yet it has D4 stamped all around it, Now I know stock conv. are D5's and are stamped. What is this converter meant for??? I told him to hold off driving it until I get an answer from you guys. Any help appreciated, Mike
