Gov questions
I checked my 85 BQ code 200r4 today and the gov only has one spring on it and its on the little wt side , it looks like there is a place cut for a spring on the other side [big wt ] should there be one there.
I also have a no shift problem with my new trans and would like to check the gov on this one to, its a brf code . Should this one have one or two springs to. thanks guys kevin ![]() |

The br code comes stock with only the one spring, this is normal, the bq may have had two, not sure, but I have been advised on here to remove the one from the big weight from any one of them, so it sounds like your fine. It is still possible even with the spring still there that the ball it is used to seat may be leaking due to flat spot or rust or something so inspect it closely and try blowing in the top of shaft to see if it leaks.

Governor Spring
The governor on the BQ trans and the BRF trans are the same, it should only have one spring on the small weight. the only differance between the BQ and the later BRF code tranny is that the BRF has a larger servo.
