Angry is my rebuilder bullsh***me

i just had the shop build my trans 300 miles later it loses overdriver and starts slipping severly between 1-2 and 2-3
i ttok it back out and sent it back . they have taken it apart and said it was in worse shape than when i sent it in the first time. now mind you i had no track time or hard driving i just drove it around for a while. now there telling me it is my fault because i had the T/V cable adj. wrong and i painted the trans case causing it to over heat and burn. is this in anyway true or is this shop giving me the run around . i have had several cars and i was a tch for gm for 8 years now i work in parts for gm and i have never heard such things. could anybody give me some insight please. any help would be greatly appriciated. thank you.

The TV cable adjustment can cause problems....... the paint remark is BS. Who set the TV cable? It is pretty hard for them to point fingers as to who did the adjusting.

I would say tell them to shove the tranny up their a** sideways and smile. Then go get a tranny from Bruce. My tranny from Bruce had something let go while at the track, and his service is so OUTSTANDING that he is going to fix it for free. Damn, he is more upset about the thing breaking than I was..... I had an Art Fart tranny before that broke and was up sh*t creak without a paddle. That's the reason I went with PTS's tranny and think it was one of the best decisions I've made. But I think the painted part is BS. The Art Fart tranny I had came pained black from them. The TV cable could have been a problem, but how can they prove that???? I think you need to let us know who this shop is so everyone can be weary of them......

Derrick

Yes you are getting the run around. Only time paint would come into play is if you put 2000 coats of enamel sealer on and it was so thick the aluminum couldnt breathe , but even then I would question. The tv set to GM specs or even relativly close, should surfice and not HURT anything. May not perform as desired but should not hurt anything.

As for Derrick, Damn right...... I'm smokin.... Pisses me off but then again, shiiit happens. It is what you do when shiiit happens that seperates the good from the bad.

I am still awaiting the swimmer in from the Islands.

AND, just my 2 cents but the non lock lock up thing you had going would very much concern me. You have never really said what you requested vs what you recieved.
IF YOU RECIEVED ANYTHING, MORE OR LESS, THEN WHAT YOU ASKED FOR OR PAID FOR, I WOULD BE AT COURTHOUSE IN MORNING FILING PAPERS AGAINST THEM!!!!

You paid for a service dammit, now go get what you paid for.
This situation is about to get very ugly, but it is going to need to happen or you are gonna feel that corn cob between you legs.

Just tell them you will not settle for this and to give you what you asked or paid for or they can see you in court. PERIOD!!!!

I do feel for you, WE4

where in Philly>? I have never heard of em.. There are only a small handful 200 rebuilders in this area that I would trust. I have never heard of them and thats the obvious reason why..
