Whine coming from Transmission??

I bought a 2004r killer street transmission w/ all the bells and whistles from Bruce last year. He's been a good guy to deal w/ I've talked to him over the phone about this "whine" I am getting from my trans, I'm just looking for some other opinions. Here are the details: back in November I moved the car when it was pretty cold out, that was the first time I noticed the noise and just figured it was because it was cold out. This spring I took the car out and it's still making the noise, I didnt know for sure if it was the tranny or motor/accesories, I eliminated the motor, after listening directly to the tranny under the car while it is being reved up. It is a pretty loud whine when you are right under it.
I jacked the car up and had a buddy rev the motor, and I am 100% sure it's the tranny, the whine is coming right from the pan area. It makes a whine similar to a power steering pump low on fluid, maybe a little higher pitch. It makes the noise in gear, neutral and park, when you rev the motor up around 2,000 rpm and higher, it's a steady noise, if you downshift into 2nd gear and coast it still makes the noise with no throttle apllied.

I've checked the fluid level and it is slightly above the full mark. It drives fine, shifts nice and hard and everything else works fine, but the noise is there and somthing isnt right.

What are my options? Pump? Converter? I'm in Green Bay Wisconsin, if anyone knows someone around this area that knows these trannys let me know.

You can eliminate the converter by putting the rear of the car up on jackstands so the wheels are free to turn, put the car in drive, let it shift out of first, then manually lock the converter. If the noise goes away it's the converter. Other possibilities are the pump or the torrington bearing that Bruce puts on the center support if it has one.
