B&M makes a kit to lock the converter. You will need a brake switch from a mid 80's GM car that has a lockup converter. This will unlock the converter whenever you apply the brakes. You will also need a mounting bracket for the T.V. cable and a bracket on the throttle linkage to get the proper geometry for the cable. I think it's all available from B&M. It's been a while since I have done one so my memory is a little fuzzy.

If you know some basic wiring you can get a cheap kit on Ebay to wire up the TCC/TorqueConvertorClutch. Some of the kits are pricey. If you dont mind dropping the trans pan you can do it without much at all just some wiring. For an external setup You can set it up so when the 4th gear pressure port on the passenger side of trans gets a oil signal it will lock in 4th only. Here's some good links. Read through them all and you'll get a better idea of how you may want to do it. TH2004R & TH700R4 TVCable bracket & Lockup wiring is the same. Good luck with your swap. eBay Motors: 700R4 Lockup Fourth Gear Torque Converter Lock up Kit (item 260136622429 end time Jun-30-08 13:15:24 PDT)

You should get the vacuum switch from a 80's car or truck too. Get the hose that goes with it as their is a delay valve in that hose.

Yes any of the early 80s trucks/cars that came with TH350C,TH200C should have the vacuum switch and brake switch for to unlock TCC when stopping.
