1000+ RPM drop with PTC N/L on 10sec street car

I just love it when something works exactly the way you want it to.
Thanks Dusty
Shifted the 2-3 manually at 5950. Pulled down to 4900.
Spools up just fine on a stall test too. This converter does everything right.

(PS.. thanks to Bison too for recommending it)

Cool. Looking forward to seeing the ET and MPH improvement over the Vig.

Are you going to BG? Or any local tracks anytime soon?

unhook the wastegate rod and do a stall test. Post the PL screen.....

The idea is to get a good idea of the zero psi stall. The tires must not turn or the test is not accurate.

The great thing about these converters is you can have both. Loose down low and tight up top.Very hard to achieve on a small cube turbocharged engine. Some great tech here with these and they are very affordable.

I have (2) of these converters in cars here recently. One of them is in Atlanta at the "Pinks" event right now. I'm patiently waiting for a progress call... The 9/11 lock-up that came out just wasn't cutting it @ speeds over 123+mph.

Here 'tis. 3190RPM. The SMC started to spray a little bit near the end and loaded it up just a little bit, but it was already flatline before that.

I'll be at BG but just spectating and hanging out with you and Dave. My rear suspension is shot and I still have stock axles back there, so I have some work to do before she's ready. I'll be picking up a complete HR package from Paul Ferry at BG, and the axles / driveshaft are on the way too, so there is light at the end of the tunnel!

I forgot. Dave said you were going to upgrade your axles and rear suspension.

The video looked good.

I was just wanting some fairly controlled tests to compare to my PTC 10"

Thanks guys.

(steve, email me that file, or post it)

I will try to do some of the same testing on mine.

That graph doesnt lie. Looks like your going to have a real animal when you get your suspension issues worked out. Looks like your a little fat down low too. If you pull some fuel out it should help even more.

Thanks
I try to run 11.0-11.3 AFR on the track. She pigged out on the stall test because the SMC started to spray (it's set to come on at 0psi when I'm running around on the street). The last pass was 10.70 @ 126 blowing through the Precision, and only 17 degrees timing. I can't wait to see what happens with the converter / suspension improvements and some more power.
I learned alot about torque converters from reading your posts! thanks again Bison

I am not brave enough to footbrake my car to that boost level in my driveway...I would need some serious house work to repair the hole I put in the back of the garage.

I guess its time to put some brakes on my ole bucket.

Whats the advertised stall again? Was it a 2800 or 3200?

He he... the thought of driving through the house did occur to me. But I knew the brakes were in top form - I had to use them quite a bit this morning after jumping on it to get the 1st power logger file!

It's a 27-17. (that's the P/N referring to the number of blades on the goodies inside)
Dusty would have to tell you what it might stall at on your combo.

sounds like what I want to build,

caps or girdle?

I took a look at your file, it looks like 2900 at 0 - 1 psi. Sounds like it spools well....
