Tranny temp

Just had my tranny completely overhauled and built for my GN by a reputable shop that knows the buicks. Dunno much about trannies still tryin to learn my tranny operates at about 150-180 (180 bein the high end when I sit still for a while ideling) just wanna make sure this is kosher. Tranny usually never gets above 165 and rarely at that temp.
Thanks
-Andrew

i have a Lonnie Diers/Lee Thompson built 200 w/ a brake. I run the in rad. cooler and an external B&M supercooler for the tranny fluid. I RARELY see the temp go above 160. It hardly never moves the temp gauge off the 160 mark. I'd say your doing good.

My temp sender is located in the lines that go to the stock tranny oil cooler and I honestly dont remember which line it was send or return I do know that it is in the top line (I knew at the time which one it was but dont remember cause that was months ago I know thats terrible ). I was thinking about getting an external cooler also. BigDaddy, how did you set up your B&M in line with your stock location cooler?
Thanks
-Andrew
