200r4 vs TH200

Hello all,

First off, I guess I need to know - did the 80's Regal NA come with a TH200 or 200R4?

I have a 83 Buick Regal T-Type with the 200r4 (i'm pretty sure).

Would a TH200 bolt up (i'm guessing it will) and will it run ok? My guess is that it just won't go into overdrive.

Yes there is a reason I'm asking, so I just need to know if it will work. Any thoughts (clean ones) are appreciated.

Thanks!
Sarah

The 200 will bolt up but the mount is further up on the back of the trans. You will need a different cross member.

200-4R was not even available until 1981. Until then TH350's and I believe TH200's were available.
