Question can a lightening rod shifter work w/ a 2004r?

i was told it only works with a th400. is that true?

There are 2 different styles.

One type for a 3 speed trans. (will work with a 2004R, just no manual 1st)
Or, the 83 and 84 Hurst Olds that was stock with a 2004R.

The lightning rods are bad asss if you ask me. Having that and a custom console panel made by Mark Huffman (buickgn.com) would be the ultimate finishing touch on any gn's interior. I was looking on ebay for the 4 speed rods, auction ended at over $500 for a nice set.

if you have never worked a set off lightning rods, try it. they are actually pretty fun. i still have the original set from my 83 hurst. if my car wasn't a track car(three speed) i would try putting them in.
